Conflict Escalates as Iran Targets U.S. Military Base in Kuwait

Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated after Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military facilities in Kuwait, marking a major expansion of the ongoing regional conflict.

Iranian forces reportedly struck areas near the Ali Al Salem Air Base, which hosts American troops, as part of retaliatory operations following U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iranian targets. Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted many incoming missiles and drones, though debris caused damage and injuries in several locations.

The attacks come amid a broader wave of Iranian retaliation across Gulf nations. Military officials confirmed that intense combat conditions also led to a friendly-fire incident in which Kuwaiti defenses mistakenly shot down three U.S. fighter jets; all crew members survived after ejecting safely.

Regional governments have raised security alerts as fears grow that continued strikes could widen the conflict and threaten stability across the Gulf.
