How painful is growing up? As time passes, you realize that the people who used to be with you for so long are gone. When you want to see your loved ones, sometimes you have to use a “time machine” to be able to go back to the beautiful days with your family. Or there are people whose silhouettes we only see through old photos.

For example, recently, a photo titled “Real Life” caused a storm on Chinese social networks when it captured the scene of a family after 12 years. The photo was taken in 1994 – 2001 – 2006 respectively, showing how cruel time was.

All 3 photos were taken at the same location, in front of a stone wall. If in 1994, there were 7 grandmothers holding a boy who was only about 3-4 years old, everyone was smiling brightly when looking at the camera.

Until 7 years later, the boy grew up every day, as tall as his grandmothers. But when looking at the 2016 photo, the cute grandmothers have passed away every year and only 3 are still with their grandson. The boy has gradually grown up to become the breadwinner in the family, but the people close to him are no longer there.

This feeling of loss must be understood by many people when they reach adulthood. When you reach a certain age, you will have to go through painful separations from loved ones like this.
