Strike on Police Station Damages Residential Homes in West Tehran

An explosion targeting a police station in western Tehran caused significant damage to nearby residential buildings on Friday morning, ripping doors from their hinges and shattering windows in homes across the neighborhood of Marzdaran, according to local reports and eyewitness accounts.

Residents in the area woke to the sound of a powerful blast that shook surrounding buildings and sent debris into nearby streets. Inside one residential property close to the site of the explosion, doors were torn from their fittings and window glass was blown out by the force of the shockwave. Furniture was displaced and walls cracked as the blast reverberated through the densely populated neighborhood.

The explosion was reportedly aimed at a nearby police facility, which sustained heavy damage in the strike. Images and video from the aftermath show rubble surrounding the station and nearby structures, with wrecked vehicles and damaged homes visible throughout the area.

Emergency crews and civil defense workers quickly arrived at the scene, searching through debris and checking surrounding buildings for possible casualties. Residents gathered outside damaged apartments as authorities secured the area and began clearing rubble from the streets.

The incident comes amid a broader wave of airstrikes and explosions that have rocked Iran’s capital in recent days as the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States escalates dramatically. The coordinated military campaign has targeted a range of government, military, and security facilities across Tehran.

Earlier strikes reportedly hit several key installations in the capital, including security compounds and infrastructure linked to the Iranian government. The attacks form part of one of the most extensive aerial offensives in the region in years, triggering retaliation from Tehran and raising fears of a wider regional war.

Residents in many parts of Tehran say the explosions have become a frequent occurrence since the conflict began. Loud blasts have been reported every few hours in some areas, shaking buildings and sending columns of smoke into the sky above the city.

In Marzdaran, the strike has left residents shaken. Several families were seen removing broken glass and inspecting damage to their homes after the blast. While the police station appears to have been the intended target, nearby civilian structures suffered collateral damage due to their proximity to the facility.

Local authorities have not yet released full details on casualties from the explosion in Marzdaran, though reports indicate that emergency services were working to assess the extent of the damage and determine whether anyone had been injured.

Security has been tightened across Tehran following the latest strike. Police and security forces have increased their presence around key government buildings and major intersections, while checkpoints have been set up in several districts as authorities attempt to maintain order in the capital.

The ongoing conflict has transformed daily life in Tehran, a city of nearly ten million people. Many residents have limited their movement, while others have begun leaving the capital amid fears that further strikes could occur.

As tensions continue to rise across the region, the strike in Marzdaran underscores how the conflict is increasingly affecting urban areas and civilian neighborhoods, leaving residents caught in the middle of a rapidly escalating war.
