Brave Little Girl Shields Her Brother Beneath the Rubble Before Their Miraculous Rescue After the Turkey Earthquake

“Get Us Out of Here” — Brave Little Girl Protects Her Brother After Earthquake

Two young children were safely brought out from the debris after being stuck for 36 hours when two powerful earthquakes struck their home in Syria.

Seven-year-old Miriam held tightly to her younger brother, keeping him close and calm as she pleaded with rescuers to “please get us out of here.”

The massive 7.8 magnitude quake hit early Monday with such force that it shifted the ground by nearly 10 feet and caused widespread damage across hundreds of miles along the Turkey–Syria border.

The siblings were found beneath layers of concrete — the remains of their family home in Besnaya-Bseineh, near Haram in Syria. Footage captured Miriam covering her brother’s head, her eyes full of courage and exhaustion, while speaking softly to the rescue team:

“Sir, if you help me and my brother, I’ll do whatever you want. But please get us out.”

Thanks to the rescue workers, both children were safely brought out and later seen in stable condition.

Their parents and another sibling had been at home when the quake struck, but miraculously, the entire family survived — a small miracle amid so much hardship.

Generous supporters have since raised over £300,000 to assist in rescue and relief efforts, with public figures like Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu lending their voices to help. The Love Island star, whose family lives in the affected area, has spoken about the importance of unity and compassion during this difficult time.

Local communities continue searching for missing loved ones and helping survivors find warmth and safety through the cold nights that followed.

Even in the darkest moments, stories like Miriam’s remind the world of the strength of love — and the incredible power of hope.
