White House vows massive retaliation against Iran over Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump is warning Iran of dire consequences if it impedes the flow of commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

“If they do anything to stop the flow of oil or goods within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the world’s most powerful military 20 times harder than they have been hit thus far,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters Tuesday.

The strait is a vital waterway and global global energy choke point, which has been disrupted amid back-and-forth attacks between Iran and Israel and the United States.

Trump also issued the same warning on Monday night on Truth Social.

“Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them,” he wrote.
