Together Through Life The Remarkable Journey of Ronnie and Donnie Galyon the World’s Longest-Living Conjoined Twins

Ronnie and Donnie Galyon, the world’s oldest set of conjoined twins, have passed away at the age of 68 in Dayton, Ohio. According to their brother Jim, the twins died peacefully in hospice care after a lifetime spent side by side.

Born on October 28, 1951, in Beavercreek, Ohio, the Galyon brothers were joined at the abdomen and shared vital organs that made separation impossible. Doctors warned their parents early on that any surgical attempt to separate them would be fatal for one or both.

As children, Ronnie and Donnie began appearing in carnivals and circuses across the United States, drawing public attention as part of sideshow attractions. Their earnings helped support their family for many years. Despite the challenges of their condition, the twins maintained a positive outlook on life and became beloved figures in their community.

Their remarkable story gained renewed attention in 2010 when TLC aired a documentary detailing their daily lives and the unique bond they shared. The same year, health issues forced them to move in with family members after decades of independent living.

The Dayton community came together to support them, raising funds and helping to renovate a home designed to meet their needs, including a custom wheelchair that allowed them to move comfortably.

In 2014, just before their 63rd birthday, Ronnie and Donnie earned the title of the world’s oldest living conjoined twins—a testament to their resilience, strength, and unbreakable bond.

Their lives, though inseparable, were a powerful example of courage and devotion. Ronnie and Donnie Galyon will be remembered not only for their world record but also for their spirit of perseverance and the love they shared throughout their extraordinary journey.
