HIS TINY BODY HELD A BALLOON-LIKE BELLY FROM MEGACOLON — NOW BABY MILES IS THRIVING AGAINST ALL EXPECTATIONS

A British baby boy was born with a rare condition called megacolon, with his belly as large as a balloon.

Stacey Skinner, 28, from Norwich, England, was shocked when doctors informed her that her newborn son, Miles, had a rare condition called megacolon.

Stacey said: ‘During my pregnancy, I had no unusual symptoms until at 28 weeks, when a 4D ultrasound showed the baby’s belly moving. The baby’s belly was enormous.’

When Miles was born, doctors drained 400ml of fluid from Stacey’s abdomen before performing a C-section.

In addition to the abdominal distension, Miles also had a protein allergy to cow’s milk. Doctors diagnosed that Miles might not survive due to this condition. Stacey’s family even prepared for his death.

Despite their immense grief, Stacey’s family remained determined to seek treatment for their son. Therefore, after being born, baby Miles had to stay in the hospital for monitoring.

And a miracle happened; after 12 weeks of treatment, baby Miles escaped death and gradually recovered.

Stacety shared: “Only those who have experienced this pain can understand the feelings of parents like us.”

Baby Miles was able to go home but had to follow a very strict diet.

Now, Miles is 9 months old and is very active.
