Daveigh Chase, the Original Voice of Lilo in Lilo & Stitch, Dies at 35

The official cause of death for former child actress Daveigh Chase has been released following her passing at the age of 35.

Widely recognized as the voice of Lilo Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch and for her unforgettable role in The Ring, Chase died in Los Angeles on June 17.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the actress, whose legal name was Daveigh Schwallier, died from complications related to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), the advanced stage of infection caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

The report also identified chronic polysubstance use as a contributing factor. This term refers to the long-term use of multiple drugs or substances, either simultaneously or over a short period, which can result in substance dependence.
