Louro was never kept in a cage. Fourteen years ago, Josemar and his wife found two baby parrots lying helpless beneath a fallen tree in the forest. They were fragile, defenseless, and far too young to survive on their own. The couple took them in and cared for them with tenderness until they were strong enough to fly.

One day, when their wings were ready, one of the parrots flew away—returning to the wild where it belonged.

Today, those three kittens are growing up in a loving home—all thanks to a parrot who once had every reason to fly away but chose to stay.
