Thai Travel YouTuber Hlun Solo Reported Missing During Solo Trip to Georgia
Concern has spread across Thailand after popular travel YouTuber Hlun Solo was reported missing during a solo trip to Georgia, prompting an international search effort and emotional appeals from his family.
According to relatives, Hlun Solo—whose real name is Bowornthat Pengsuk—last contacted his family on July 13 while traveling through Georgia to film new content for his travel channel. Since then, they said they have been unable to reach him by phone, social media, or any other means of communication.

The missing person’s appeal was shared online by a family member, who urged anyone in Georgia, including local residents, tourists, and members of the Thai community, to come forward if they had seen Hlun Solo or had any information about his whereabouts. The post quickly spread across social media, with thousands of followers sharing it in hopes of generating new leads.
Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reportedly been notified, and consular officials have been working with Georgian authorities to help locate the 27-year-old content creator. Hlun Solo is well known for documenting his solo adventures around the world and has built a large following on YouTube through videos showcasing remote destinations and cultural experiences.

Update: Georgian police confirmed on July 29 that Hlun Solo was found dead in a hotel room in Tbilisi. Authorities have opened an investigation under Article 115 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which covers possible incitement to suicide and is routinely used when the cause of death is initially unclear. Officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances of his death while the investigation remains ongoing.
The news has devastated Hlun Solo’s family, friends, and nearly one million YouTube subscribers, many of whom have shared tributes remembering his adventurous spirit and passion for travel. Messages of condolence have poured in from across Thailand and around the world as supporters mourn the loss of a creator who inspired countless people to explore new places and cultures.
