The husband of a North Carolina woman who mysteriously vanished while vacationing in the Caribbean is speaking out, saying there is currently no indication of foul play — and according to him, authorities investigating the case seem to agree.

Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell disappeared while visiting Grenada, leaving her family and loved ones searching desperately for answers. In a message shared on a website dedicated to finding her, Liz’s husband, Cailen Waddell, explained that multiple parties — including family members, local authorities, the U.S. Embassy, and officials in Grenada — all believe that a criminal act is unlikely to be involved in her disappearance.

Despite this, the situation remains deeply concerning, and the search for Liz is still ongoing.

According to reports, surveillance footage captured on July 22 shows Liz near Grand Anse Beach, not far from the Airbnb where she had been staying during her trip. She had been traveling with a friend at the time. In the video, Liz can be seen walking calmly along the shoreline before climbing onto a jetty and jumping into the ocean.

At first, nothing appears unusual. She swims in the water for several minutes, seemingly at ease. However, after approximately 10 minutes, Liz begins swimming farther away from the area — eventually moving out of the camera’s frame. That moment would become the last confirmed sighting of her.

Two days later, on July 24, Cailen Waddell traveled to Grenada himself to assist in the search efforts. Since then, local authorities, including the Royal Grenada Police Force, have continued to investigate her disappearance, treating it as a missing person case.

Although officials do not currently suspect foul play, many questions remain unanswered. What caused Liz to swim away from shore? Did she encounter trouble in the water? Could there be witnesses who saw something that hasn’t yet been reported?

Cailen is urging anyone who might have even the smallest piece of information to come forward. He emphasized that no detail is too insignificant, as even the smallest clue could help investigators better understand what happened and potentially lead to finding Liz.
