A family’s unimaginable heartbreak has become even more devastating after they lost their home in a fire less than two weeks after saying goodbye to their newborn son.

Mikey and his wife, Bonnie, were still trying to cope with the overwhelming grief of losing their baby boy when another tragedy struck, leaving the family without the place they called home.

Their son was born at 6:00 p.m. on September 5, bringing a brief but unforgettable moment of joy to his parents and loved ones. Just one hour and forty minutes later, at 7:40 p.m., the newborn peacefully passed away, leaving behind a family whose lives changed forever.

No parent expects to welcome a child into the world and then face the pain of saying goodbye so soon. As Mikey and Bonnie began mourning the loss of their precious baby, they were also forced to step away from work, all while facing mounting financial pressures during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Then, before they had even begun to heal, disaster struck again.

“I’m trying to raise additional funds for my son Mikey and my daughter-in-law Bonnie to help ease the pain of losing their precious baby boy,” the family member shared. “No parent should ever have to experience this kind of heartbreak, while also worrying about missing work, paying bills, and starting over after losing everything.”

Friends and members of the community have rallied around the family, hoping to remind them that even in the darkest moments, they are not facing this journey alone.
