Suspect Identified in Warner Robins High School Shooting as Bail Is Denied

14-Year-Old Student Accused of Shooting Classmate at Georgia High School

A shooting at Warner Robins High School in Georgia left a ninth-grade student injured after an altercation inside a school restroom on August 12, 2026.

According to authorities, the student was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Police identified the suspect as Denzelle Willis Jr., a 14-year-old ninth-grade student. Investigators said Willis fled the school following the shooting and was arrested approximately one hour later in a neighborhood near the campus.

Willis made his initial court appearance on August 13, where a judge denied bond and ordered him to remain in custody.

Prosecutors have announced that the case will be handled as an adult prosecution, despite Willis being 14 years old.

The teenager faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a firearm and offenses related to carrying or possessing a firearm on school grounds.

The shooting has raised concerns among students, parents, and staff about firearm access and safety at schools. Investigators continue to examine the altercation that preceded the shooting and how the firearm was brought onto school property.

The allegations against Willis have not been proven in court. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty through the legal process.

The case is expected to proceed in court as prosecutors determine how to move forward with the adult charges.
