Minnie Driver Says ‘It Sucks Being Traumatized’ as She Shares Health Update After Being Involved in ‘Really Bad Car Accident’

Minnie Driver is opening up about dealing with her trauma after revealing she’d been involved in a “really bad car accident.”
The Good Will Hunting star, 56, previously explained that she’d been traveling along a country road in France when the car she was in was T-boned by another vehicle, which had been traveling at speed and failed to stop at an intersection.

Two weeks after posting from her hospital bed, the actress has now spoken candidly about how she’s been trying to cope with her “near-death experience.”
“Paris update. It sucks being traumatized,” Driver said in a black-and-white Instagram clip posted on Tuesday, Aug. 18, which she filmed while strolling around the European city.
“Like you look like you’re okay and you keep saying please and thank you and showing up but… You’re just not okay,” the Emily in Paris actress added. “And now I’m in this club, this near-death experience club, and I really don’t like clubs.”
Driver explained how the car crash had made her “more keenly connected to this profound sadness,” adding that “trying to find meaning in the accidental is driving me absolutely nuts.”

The star, who was with her friend Ben at the time of the collision, previously said in an Instagram video, shared on Aug. 6, that she’d suffered a sprained neck in the accident and had been left “in shock” and crying “all the time.” However, she insisted she was “fine.”
Driver credited the car she was traveling in — a Kia EV2, a subcompact electric SUV —for saving their lives.

Driver shared in Tuesday’s video, “I’m here, and I’m very grateful, and I guess that’s it,” before asking her followers for advice on how to deal with trauma.
“I did the EMDR, doing the osteopathy; I’m looking deep within my soul. Any other tips you might have, let me know,” Driver continued.
