NANCY GUTHRIE CASE: SECOND RANSOM NOTE CLAIMED SHE HAD DIED — BUT QUESTIONS REMAIN

A second ransom note sent to a Tucson television station shortly after Nancy Guthrie disappeared contained a devastating claim about what happened to the 84-year-old.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the note said Nancy had died shortly after being abducted and claimed she had been buried somewhere in nature.

But investigators have never publicly established that the claim in the note is true.

TWO NOTES, TWO VERY DIFFERENT MESSAGES

The Guthrie family received two notes sent to Tucson media outlets that investigators considered potentially credible enough to examine.

The first note demanded cryptocurrency in exchange for Nancy’s return.

The second, according to sources, delivered a far more disturbing message — claiming Nancy had died after she was taken from her home.

The notes were reportedly sent within days of Nancy’s disappearance.

At the time, Savannah Guthrie publicly pleaded with whoever had Nancy to return her home, saying the family was willing to pay.

THE FAMILY STILL HAS NO ANSWER

Nancy was taken from her Tucson home in the early hours of February 1, 2026.

Authorities have released surveillance images showing a masked person at the home, but Nancy’s whereabouts remain unknown and no suspect has been publicly identified.

Investigators have continued examining the ransom notes along with DNA and digital evidence.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has also released details from the notes and asked the public for help identifying whoever wrote them.
