Mother of Two Killed After Small Plane Crashes Into Vehicles During Emergency Landing

Alex Garneau, a mother of two, was killed after a small aircraft lost engine power and crashed into several vehicles during an emergency landing in Canada.

The incident occurred on August 20, 2026, when a Sekani Air Beech King Air 200 experienced an engine power loss and was forced to make an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard.

During the emergency landing, the aircraft struck four vehicles, including Garneau’s car. Garneau was killed in the crash, while her daughter, Josie, who was also inside the vehicle, survived.

All eight people aboard the aircraft, including two pilots and six passengers, were reported to be uninjured.

The tragedy has left Garneau’s family and community mourning a mother whose life was suddenly cut short while she was traveling with her daughter.
