Malaysian Rock Drummer Raja Azreen Raja Talib Dies After Collapsing on Stage at 56
Raja Azreen Raja Talib, 56, the drummer for Malaysian rock band Meditasi, has died after collapsing during a live performance at the Teruntum Rock Festival in Kuantan, Malaysia.
The incident occurred on July 18, 2026, while Talib was performing with the band. He reportedly collapsed onto his drum kit shortly after completing the second song of a scheduled 10-song set.

Emergency responders took him to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead before 11 p.m.
According to his family, the reported cause of death was related to heart complications. Talib had also recently been diagnosed with diabetes and had been hospitalized for heart-related problems in June.

His sudden death has left fellow musicians, fans, and members of the Malaysian rock community mourning a performer who died doing what he loved—playing music on stage.
Tributes are expected to continue as Meditasi and Talib’s loved ones remember the drummer’s contribution to the band’s music and the local rock scene.
