EMILIE KISER’S 3-YEAR-OLD SON TRIGG’S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED MORE THAN A YEAR AFTER TRAGEDY

The cause of death of influencer Emilie Kiser’s 3-year-old son, Trigg, has finally been revealed more than a year after the devastating pool accident that claimed his life.

According to a Maricopa County medical examiner’s report released Aug. 25, 2026, Trigg died from anoxic brain injury caused by drowning. His manner of death was officially classified as an accident.

TRIGG DIED SIX DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT

Trigg was found in his family’s backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona, on May 12, 2025.

He was rushed to the hospital and remained hospitalized for six days before dying on May 18, 2025, PEOPLE confirmed.

Emilie, 27, was not home when the incident occurred. Her husband, Brady Kiser, was caring for Trigg and their younger son, Teddy.

SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE REVEALED A LONGER PERIOD UNSUPERVISED

Brady initially told investigators that he had lost sight of Trigg for approximately three to five minutes.

However, investigators later reviewed surveillance footage and determined that Trigg had been outside unsupervised for more than nine minutes, including approximately seven minutes in the pool.

The Chandler Police Department ultimately recommended that Brady face a felony child-abuse charge.

But the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute, saying there was not a sufficient likelihood of conviction.

EMILIE HAS SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT HER GUILT AND GRIEF

Following Trigg’s death, Emilie sought to keep records surrounding the tragedy private, citing the intense public attention surrounding her family.

In later interviews, she has discussed the overwhelming grief of losing a child and acknowledged that the accident was preventable. She has also become an advocate for pool and water safety.

The family has since taken additional safety measures, including installing a pool fence at their home.

THE NEW MEDICAL REPORT SETTLES ONE QUESTION

The newly released report provides the official medical explanation:

Cause: Anoxic brain injury due to drowning
Manner: Accident
Location: Residential swimming pool in Chandler, Arizona

There is no indication in the medical examiner’s determination that Trigg’s death was classified as anything other than an accidental drowning.

 A FAMILY STILL LIVING WITH THE LOSS

Trigg was only 3 years old.

More than a year later, his official cause of death has finally been documented, while his parents continue to navigate the grief of losing their child.

The tragedy has also become a painful reminder of how quickly an unsecured pool can become dangerous for a young child.

For Emilie and her family, the official report may answer how Trigg died — but it cannot answer the much harder question every grieving parent carries: what life would have looked like if that afternoon had gone differently.
