TRIGG KISER’S OFFICIAL CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED MORE THAN A YEAR AFTER TRAGIC POOL ACCIDENT
CHANDLER, Ariz. — More than a year after the heartbreaking death of influencer Emilie Kiser’s 3-year-old son, Trigg, newly released medical examiner records have revealed the official cause and manner of his death.
According to the Maricopa County medical examiner’s report, Trigg died from anoxic brain injury caused by drowning after he was found in his family’s backyard swimming pool in Chandler, Arizona, on May 12, 2025. His manner of death was officially classified as an accident.
Trigg remained hospitalized following the incident but died six days later, on May 18, 2025, according to records reported by PEOPLE.
TRIGG WAS FOUND IN THE FAMILY’S BACKYARD POOL
The incident occurred at the Kiser family home while Trigg’s father, Brady Kiser, was caring for him and the couple’s younger child.
Emergency responders were called after Trigg was discovered in the backyard pool. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors treated him for the severe effects of oxygen deprivation.
Despite medical efforts, the toddler died six days later.
The medical examiner’s report now provides the official medical explanation for what happened.
SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE RAISED NEW QUESTIONS
The investigation did not end with Trigg’s hospitalization.
Police later reviewed surveillance footage from the property and reportedly determined that the toddler had been outside without direct supervision for more than nine minutes, including approximately seven minutes in the pool.
Brady had previously told investigators that he believed he had lost sight of Trigg for roughly three to five minutes.
The discrepancy became an important part of the subsequent investigation.
POLICE RECOMMENDED A CHILD-ABUSE CHARGE
Following the investigation, Chandler police reportedly recommended that Brady face a felony child-abuse charge.
However, prosecutors ultimately declined to pursue the case.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office determined that there was not a sufficient likelihood of obtaining a conviction, meaning Brady was not criminally prosecuted in connection with the incident.
The decision did not change the medical examiner’s determination that Trigg’s death was accidental.
EMILIE KISER HAS SPOKEN ABOUT HER GRIEF
Emilie Kiser, a social-media influencer who has shared aspects of her family life with millions of followers, has previously spoken publicly about the devastating loss of her son.
The tragedy also prompted discussions about swimming-pool safety and the dangers faced by young children around residential pools.
Following Trigg’s death, the family took additional safety precautions at their home.
For Emilie and her family, however, no safety measure can erase the loss of their young son.
OFFICIAL FINDINGS NOW PROVIDE A CLEARER PICTURE
The newly released medical examiner’s report establishes three key facts:
- Cause of death: Anoxic brain injury caused by drowning
- Manner of death: Accident
- Date of death: May 18, 2025
The findings come more than a year after the incident and after a lengthy investigation into the circumstances surrounding Trigg’s death.
While the official determination answers the medical question of how Trigg died, questions surrounding the supervision of the toddler that afternoon remain part of the public record.
For the Kiser family, the case represents a devastating loss that began with a frightening moment in a backyard pool and ended six days later with the death of a 3-year-old child.
Trigg’s official cause of death has now been documented — but the grief surrounding his loss continues long after the investigation has ended.
