HEARTBROKEN FAMILY STILL WAITING TO BRING BRAZILIAN WOMAN HOME AFTER LIMERICK TRAGEDY

A grieving Brazilian family is facing an agonizing wait to bring their beloved daughter and sister home after she was found dead inside her apartment in Limerick, Ireland.

Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a Brazilian law graduate who had built a new life in Ireland, was discovered inside her apartment at the Carlton House complex on Lower Cecil Street at around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21.

Now, nearly a week later, her family is still waiting for the paperwork needed to repatriate her remains to Brazil.

Her sister, Poliana, said the family has yet to receive a provisional death certificate, meaning they cannot confirm when Jady will be flown home.

“We are waiting for the provisional death certificate, it hasn’t been issued yet,” Poliana said, according to The Sun.

“So we cannot pin down a date.”

A FAMILY WAITING THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY

Jady was originally from Sorocaba, in São Paulo state, Brazil.

She moved to Ireland in 2021 and had been working and building a life in Limerick. Friends and colleagues have described her as warm, hardworking and well-liked.

Her sudden loss has left her family facing not only unimaginable grief, but also the difficult process of bringing her home for burial.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help cover the cost of transporting Jady’s remains to Brazil, along with funeral and burial expenses.

The campaign has already raised approximately €25,000 toward a €35,000 goal.

Poliana thanked everyone who contributed, including people who never knew her sister personally.

“It all happened so quickly and surprisingly,” she said, expressing gratitude for the kindness shown by strangers.

HER DEATH SPARKED A MAJOR GARDA INVESTIGATION

Jady was found after concerned colleagues became alarmed when she failed to arrive for work.

Gardaí, Ireland’s national police force, were called to the apartment building and launched an investigation after finding her body with serious injuries.

A post-mortem examination later confirmed that she had died violently. Gardaí have not released the detailed findings, saying the information is being withheld for operational reasons.

A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Jady’s relatives.

EX-HUSBAND FOUND DEAD HOURS LATER

The investigation took another dramatic turn later that same day.

Jady’s former husband, Judismar Wesley Batista, was found dead on rocks near Blackrock Castle in Cork, roughly 12 hours after Jady was discovered in Limerick.

Gardaí believe Batista was connected to Jady’s death and do not currently suspect foul play in his own death.

The couple had known each other since they were young and had reportedly been married for around 15 years before their relationship ended.

Reports said they had continued living in the same apartment after separating because Jady was struggling to find alternative accommodation.

As investigators continue their work, friends and family have focused on remembering Jady for the life she built rather than the circumstances surrounding her final moments.

Those who knew her have described her as joyful, caring and full of warmth.

Her sister has spoken publicly about the devastating impact of losing her.

For the family in Brazil, however, the grieving process remains incomplete.

They are still waiting for the official documentation that will allow Jady’s remains to begin the journey home.

Until then, her loved ones remain thousands of miles away, waiting for the moment they can finally bring her back to Sorocaba and give her the farewell they have been hoping for.
