HEARTBROKEN DAD DEMANDS FULL-LIFE SENTENCES FOR HIS DAUGHTER’S MURDERERS — “ISABELLE WON’T HAVE A LIFE”

Joshua Welsh thought the guilty verdicts would finally bring justice for his little girl.

But just hours after sentencing, his relief turned into anger.

The father of two-year-old Isabelle is now calling for the people convicted of her murder to receive whole-life orders, saying he cannot accept that they could eventually leave prison while his daughter will never have the chance to grow up.

“THEY WILL GET OUT — ISABELLE WON’T”

Isabelle’s mother, Alexandra Walker, and her partner, Harrison Simpson, were both sentenced to life imprisonment.

Simpson received a minimum term of 27 years and 231 days, while Walker received a minimum term of 21 years and 48 days.

Joshua says those sentences were devastating to hear.

He believes the punishment should reflect the suffering Isabelle endured and is now determined to campaign for a full-life order.

A FATHER WHO THOUGHT HIS DAUGHTER WAS SAFE

Joshua says he believed Isabelle was being properly cared for by her mother.

He had shared the first part of Isabelle’s life with Walker and described having an exceptionally close relationship with his daughter.

He last saw Isabelle only days before her second birthday.

He says he had no idea Walker had a new partner and did not know Harrison Simpson until his arrest.

The truth he later learned during the trial left him shattered.

THE OUTSTANDING WARRANT THAT HAUNTS THE FAMILY

Joshua has also questioned whether authorities missed an opportunity to intervene.

Simpson had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in March 2024, around 18 months before Isabelle’s death.

Cleveland Police said multiple attempts were made to locate and arrest him, but those efforts were unsuccessful.

The force has since acknowledged that the length of time the warrant remained outstanding was inadequate and said it has introduced changes to improve the tracking and oversight of outstanding warrants.

For Joshua, that revelation has become one of the most painful parts of the case.

He believes there were opportunities when authorities might have acted sooner.

ISABELLE’S FINAL DAYS

The five-week trial at Teesside Crown Court heard evidence of severe injuries suffered by the toddler.

Simpson was convicted of murder, sexual assault by penetration and child cruelty.

Walker was convicted of murder and child cruelty.

The sentencing judge described Isabelle as having been in pain and distress during the final period of her life.

Her father says that knowledge will stay with him forever.

“I WANT TO BE HER VOICE”

Joshua now says his mission is to make sure Isabelle is remembered for the little girl she was — not simply for the horrific circumstances surrounding her final days.

He remembers her as bubbly, loving and full of smiles.

He also wants other parents to be cautious about who they allow into their homes and around their children.

For him, the campaign is about more than punishment.

It is about making sure the lessons from Isabelle’s case are not forgotten.

Joshua has lost his daughter forever. Now he is demanding that those convicted of her murder remain behind bars for life — while continuing to fight for the little girl he says will always be his “little angel.”
