10 YEARS ON, THE GIRL BORN WITH LEGS JUST 5CM LONG WHO HAD TO HAVE THEM AMPUTATED AT 18 MONTHS HAS LEFT THE WORLD STUNNED BY HER EXTRAORDINARY LIFE TODAY

Daisy is now an inspiration to people around the world because of her incredible strength and determination.

Daisy May Demetre, from the UK, was born with a rare condition called fibular hemimelia, which caused some of the bones in her lower legs to be missing or severely shortened. When she was born, her legs were only around 5cm long, with her feet developing differently.

At just 18 months old, Daisy underwent major surgery to remove her affected legs so doctors could give her a better chance at mobility. After recovering, the little girl began physical therapy and slowly learned to take her first steps using prosthetic legs.

Growing up with a visible difference was not always easy. Daisy faced difficulties at school and was sometimes teased for looking different. Her family also went through an incredibly challenging period as they learned how to support their daughter and help her build a confident future.

But Daisy proved to be a true little warrior. Despite everything she faced, she remained cheerful, confident and remarkably independent. She quickly learned to walk, play and do everyday activities using her prosthetic legs.

And then came a surprise no one expected — Daisy entered the world of fashion. Her father, Alex, encouraged her to try the runway, and her bright personality, natural confidence and unique story soon caught the attention of major children’s fashion brands.

In 2018, Daisy appeared at London Fashion Week. The following year, she walked at both Paris Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, leaving audiences amazed by her confidence and presence on the runway.

In 2019, Daisy was honored as Child of Courage at the Pride of Birmingham Awards, recognizing the inspiration she has become to so many people.

Today, Daisy continues to share her adventures, school days and everyday moments online, proving that being different can become a source of strength — and that dreams can take you much further than anyone ever imagined.
