Pola was born a healthy, long-awaited baby girl. After three peaceful days in hospital, she went home with her parents, who had no reason to believe their lives were about to change forever.

That evening, Pola suddenly woke crying intensely. Her tiny body became unusually tense, her head tilted backward, and her eyes began moving strangely. Her parents knew immediately that something was wrong.

They wrapped their daughter in a blanket, rushed her to the nearest hospital and waited anxiously for answers.

Although the initial results appeared reassuring, Pola’s condition continued to deteriorate throughout the night. By morning, doctors performed an ultrasound through her soft spot — and discovered bleeding in her brain.

Everything changed in an instant.

Pola was transferred for specialist care and placed on a ventilator after her oxygen level fell to around 70 percent. She also began vomiting heavily. Her parents watched helplessly as their previously healthy baby girl was suddenly facing a serious neurological crisis.

Later, they heard words no parent ever expects to hear. Doctors told them that Pola had suffered devastating damage, with bleeding and swelling in her brain also leading to hydrocephalus. At one point, they were told she had been diagnosed with brain death.

Pola was moved to a pediatric intensive care unit, where she remains in a medically induced coma, receiving breathing support and nutrition through a feeding tube.

Doctors initially gave the family almost no hope.

They were told Pola might have only 24 hours.

But she survived. And then she survived another day, and another.

Two months later, Pola is still here — and her family refuses to stop believing in her.

“Every day she shows us that she is not ready to give up,” her family says. “We don’t know how much she will be able to recover, but as long as Pola is fighting, we will fight beside her.”

The family now hopes to provide her with specialist rehabilitation, medical equipment, continued care and specialized medical transport to a clinic where they can explore further treatment and support.

The costs are far beyond what they can manage alone.

“We only want to give our daughter every chance we possibly can,” they shared. “She has already surprised us by coming this far. We want to be there for every next step.”
