FRESH POLICE APPEAL AFTER 16-YEAR-OLD BRYAN LOWE DIES IN E-BIKE HIT-AND-RUN

GARDAÍ are desperately searching for the driver and occupants of a Skoda after a 16-year-old boy died in a suspected hit-and-run collision in Co Clare.

Bryan Lowe was found unresponsive beside the road shortly after 11pm on Friday, September 4, following a collision involving the e-bike he was riding.

The teenager was discovered on the L3050 at Cottage Cross near Cloonlara, close to the Clare-Limerick border.

Despite the emergency response, Bryan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, days after the tragedy, Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses — and released details of a vehicle they urgently want to trace.

GARDAÍ WANT TO SPEAK TO SKODA DRIVER

Investigators say a second vehicle was involved in the collision but failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí are now particularly interested in speaking to the driver or occupants of a silver or gold Skoda Octavia, registration 05-C-5982.

The vehicle was reportedly in the Cloonlara/Castleconnell area between 6pm on Friday, September 4, and 11am on Saturday, September 5.

Police have stressed that they are seeking information from anyone who may have seen the vehicle or knows anything about its movements.

They are also appealing to motorists who travelled through the area to check their dash-cam footage.

A COMMUNITY LEFT HEARTBROKEN

Bryan, from Cloonlara and Westbury in Co Clare, has been named locally following his death.

Tributes have poured in for the teenager, who was a sixth-year student at St Munchin’s College in Limerick.

His school community described him as a kind and respectful young man, with staff and friends left devastated by the sudden loss.

The wider community has also rallied around Bryan’s family as investigators work to establish exactly what happened on the road that night.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.

Garda forensic collision investigators examined the scene after the crash, while the Coroner was notified and a post-mortem examination was arranged.

Authorities have not publicly established the full sequence of events leading to Bryan being found at the roadside.

But investigators have confirmed one crucial detail: another vehicle was involved, and it did not remain at the scene.

That is why Gardaí are now urging anyone who travelled through Cloonlara, Castleconnell or the surrounding area that evening to come forward.
