24 HOURS OF HOPE ENDED IN HEARTBREAK: THREE-YEAR-OLD NOAH WOODS FOUND DEAD

BRANTHAM, SUFFOLK — For more than 24 hours, hundreds of police officers, emergency workers and members of the public searched desperately for three-year-old Noah Woods.

They searched streets, fields, waterways and surrounding woodland. Specialist teams arrived from across the country. Helicopters flew overhead. Dogs combed the area. Divers entered Decoy Pond.

The entire community was hoping for one outcome: that Noah would be found alive.

Instead, the search ended with devastating news.

Police have confirmed that the body recovered from Decoy Pond in Brantham, Suffolk, has been formally identified as Noah Woods, the three-year-old boy who disappeared after becoming separated from a relative near a playground on Tuesday afternoon.

Noah was last seen at around 2:37 p.m. on September 15 near Merriam Close. He reportedly ran down an alleyway and disappeared from view, triggering an urgent search operation that would continue through the night and into the following day.

More than 1,300 people ultimately joined the effort, according to police, alongside specialist officers, search dogs, firefighters, coastguard teams, ambulance crews, volunteers and Metropolitan Police divers.

Then came the moment the family had feared.

A child was recovered from Decoy Pond on Wednesday afternoon.

Police subsequently confirmed the child’s identity as Noah.

The force has said Noah’s death is not being treated as suspicious, but the circumstances remain unexplained and enquiries are continuing for the coroner.

Noah’s father, Rhys Woods, later paid tribute to his son, describing him as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy.”

Across Brantham, flowers, toys and other tributes have since been left near the playground where Noah was last seen.
