TOM JONES FACES SHOCK EXIT FROM THE VOICE UK AS ITV UNVEILS MAJOR NEW ‘LOCKDOWN’ TWIST

Sir Tom Jones has spoken out after his shock departure from The Voice UK, saying he did not want to leave the show as ITV prepares for one of the biggest shake-ups in the programme’s history.

Cheryl and rapper Aitch will make their coaching debuts, joining returning coaches Kelly Rowland and will.i.am.

Tom Jones, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher are all departing the coaching panel.

Long-time presenter Emma Willis is also stepping away from The Voice UK after more than a decade with the programme.

Under the reported format, a coach could use the Lockdown button to secure a contestant before the singer gets the opportunity to hear the competing pitches and decide which team to join.

The reported change would replace the recently introduced Rewind feature and could significantly alter one of the most familiar moments in the competition.
