Just five pounds at birth, little Kyrie was facing a challenge far bigger than anyone could have imagined.

Born with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD), Kyrie came into the world with kidneys that were already the size normally seen in adults — an enormous challenge for such a tiny newborn.

For the past two months, this brave little boy has remained in the NICU, facing one difficult day after another.

Doctors have had to remove both of Kyrie’s kidneys, and he now receives daily dialysis while his family waits for kidneys small enough for his little body.

Through it all, Kyrie continues to show an incredible determination to keep going.

And despite everything he has been through, there is one thing that never seems to be missing from his hospital days — love.

His twin brother, older siblings and parents surround him with hugs, helping bring smiles to their tiny fighter during the hardest moments.

“Some days are incredibly difficult, but seeing Kyrie smile reminds us why we keep going,” his family shared. “We just want him to have the chance to grow, play and enjoy life with his brothers and sisters.”

For his family, every cuddle is precious and every smile feels like a small victory.

“Kyrie has already taught us so much about strength,” they said. “He may be tiny, but he has a huge fight in him.”

Now, as Kyrie continues daily dialysis and waits for the kidneys he needs, his family remains by his side — holding him close, celebrating every milestone and believing that brighter days are still ahead.

After everything this five-pound newborn has endured, his journey is a powerful reminder that sometimes the smallest fighters can carry the biggest hearts.
