PROSECUTORS LINK ALLEGED PORTLAND SERIAL KILLER TO SIXTH VICTIM

PORTLAND, OREGON — Prosecutors in Oregon have expanded their case against 41-year-old Jesse Lee Calhoun, officially charging him in connection with the death of a sixth woman, 32-year-old Elizabeth “Libby” Gibson.

Gibson went missing in late 2022. Although her remains have not yet been recovered, law enforcement officials and investigators believe Calhoun caused her death on or around November 18, 2022. This timestamp makes Gibson the earliest known alleged victim linked to Calhoun’s multi-year spree.

With the latest indictment added to the file, Calhoun now faces a series of serious felony charges. The legal counts include five counts of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree manslaughter, and four counts of abuse of a corpse.

The six women officially identified in the indictment are Elizabeth “Libby” Gibson, Kristin Smith, Joanna Speaks, Charity Lynn Perry, Bridget Leanne Webster, and Ashley Real.

Calhoun has previously entered pleas of not guilty to the original charges filed against him, and the prosecution must prove all allegations beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law as the judicial process unfolds.

The expansion of the indictment highlights a long, complex investigation into missing women across the region. Six families continue to wait for formal answers and legal justice in court, while search efforts and investigative work remain active for the victim whose remains have not yet been brought home to her loved ones.
