Known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry, Cain worked at Grimston Medical Centre and had built her career around caring for patients.

She was also reported to have been part of a group of doctors available to provide medical care to members of the Royal Family when they stayed at the nearby Sandringham Estate.

Her family praised the care she gave her patients, saying they were incredibly proud of the woman she was. Colleagues also paid tribute to her kindness and the warmth she brought to those around her.

Her husband appears in court

Mark Cain, 45, has been charged with the murder of his wife. He appeared before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on October 7 before appearing at King’s Lynn Crown Court the following day.

He was remanded in custody until a plea hearing scheduled for December 3, 2026. He has not been convicted, and the case remains before the courts.

At the initial hearing, the court heard that emergency services had been called to the family home in the early hours of October 4. The proceedings have begun to establish the circumstances surrounding Dr Cain’s death, but the allegations against her husband remain matters for the court to determine.

In their statement, Hannah’s relatives asked the public to respect their privacy as they grieve.

Their words focused not on the attention surrounding the case, but on the person they had lost: a loving family member and a doctor who took great care of those who depended on her.

Grimston Medical Centre also temporarily closed following the tragedy, citing extremely difficult circumstances affecting its team. <Cite refs={[“turn116194search1″,”turn116194news13”]}/>
