FORENSIC SKETCHES RELEASED IN SEARCH FOR FLORENCE COUNTY JANE DOE
Two forensic artists have created three distinct sketches of an unidentified woman whose remains were discovered in the Wisconsin woods nearly four years ago. Each sketch offers a unique interpretation of her potential appearance, with investigators hoping that one of these renderings will spark recognition and finally give her a name.

On October 28, 2022, a hunter walking through a densely wooded area in Florence County, Wisconsin, discovered skeletal remains alongside a single hoop earring. Subsequent forensic analysis indicated that the woman likely died between two and fifteen years prior to her discovery, placing her potential time of death anywhere from 2007 to 2020.
Determining her identity has proven exceptionally challenging due to broad physical estimates. She is believed to have been between 30 and 83 years old, stood between 4’8″ and 5’4″ tall, and was likely White, Hispanic, or a combination of both. These wide demographic ranges leave open thousands of possibilities when cross-referencing missing-person databases. Despite extensive DNA testing and comparative analyses, investigators have found no match.

In August 2025, the Wisconsin Department of Justice publicly released the three forensic sketches to generate new leads. Seeing the variations side by side demonstrates how different artists interpret facial structures from the same skeletal data. Authorities urge anyone who recognizes any of the depictions to contact the Florence County Sheriff’s Office or the Wisconsin Department of Justice under case reference 22-7814.
