MILEY CYRUS DONATES ONE MILLION DOLLARS TO HELP BUILD HOMES FOR HOMELESS WOMEN IN LOS ANGELES

Ninety-seven women experiencing homelessness will soon have a permanent place to call home, thanks in part to a generous contribution from Miley Cyrus. Through the Miley Cyrus Foundation, the acclaimed singer announced a one million dollar donation to the Downtown Women’s Center HOME Campaign in October 2026. The funds directly support Rosa’s Place, an affordable housing project currently under construction in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Once completed, the new building will offer ninety-seven private studio apartments tailored for women facing homelessness, including those surviving domestic violence. In addition to housing, residents will receive comprehensive support services focused on health, employment, and long-term personal stability. Miley Cyrus and her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, are also contributing directly to the interior design to ensure the living spaces are warm, dignified, and welcoming.

The development carries historical significance through its name. Rosa’s Place honors Rosa Arzola, a woman whose life on Skid Row originally inspired founder Jill Halverson to establish the Downtown Women’s Center nearly fifty years ago. Scheduled for completion in late 2027, the project will nearly double the organization’s housing capacity from 119 to 216 residences. Miley’s major contribution joins additional public funding, partner organizations, and community advocacy. For ninety-seven women, this initiative offers a private space and the foundation needed to rebuild their lives.
