DIAGNOSED WITH AGGRESSIVE MEDULLOBLASTOMA AT JUST 14, LAISHA CONTINUES TO FIGHT WITH UNBREAKABLE COURAGE AGAINST EVERY SETBACK

At just 14 years old, Laisha Jasso from La Joya, Texas, is facing a battle that no child should ever have to endure. Yet through every setback, every painful treatment, and every moment of uncertainty, she continues to show a level of strength that inspires everyone around her.

Laisha was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. Since then, her life has been filled with hospital visits, difficult procedures, and an ongoing fight for her future.

Over the past few years, she has undergone two brain surgeries, endured 30 rounds of radiation, and continues to receive chemotherapy. Each step has demanded incredible courage, but Laisha has never stopped fighting.

After her second craniotomy in September, her journey took another heartbreaking turn. She lost the ability to walk — a devastating setback after everything she had already overcome. For many, this would feel impossible to accept, but Laisha faced it with the same quiet determination that defines her story.

Just as she was trying to recover, doctors delivered even more difficult news: the cancer had returned and spread. Treatment had to begin immediately, leaving no time for rest.

Her days quickly became a cycle of hospital stays, radiation sessions, and long journeys from her home in La Joya to Houston for care. The hospital has become like a second home — a place filled with both hope and hardship.

“It breaks our hearts to see her go through so much,” a family member shared. “But Laisha is stronger than anyone we know. Even on her hardest days, she still finds a way to smile.”

Another loved one added softly, “She teaches us every day what real courage looks like. We wish we could take her pain away, but all we can do is stand beside her and keep believing.”

The treatments have taken a toll on her body, leaving her weak and exhausted. Yet her spirit remains unshaken. Even in moments of fear and uncertainty, Laisha continues to hold on, refusing to give up.
