ONCE GIVEN LITTLE CHANCE TO SURVIVE, SHEREE—LIVING WITH A RARE MUSCLE CONDITION—NOW CELEBRATES MOTHERHOOD AND PROVES STRENGTH HAS NO LIMITS

Sheree Psaila has spent her entire life proving that limits are not always what they seem.
Standing at just four feet tall, Sheree was born with a rare condition called arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, which left her with almost no muscle tissue in her limbs. From the very beginning, her future was uncertain.
Doctors once told her parents that she might not live past her first birthday.

For any family, those words are devastating. But even then, Sheree’s story was already beginning to defy expectations.
As she grew, life was far from easy. She underwent multiple surgeries and medical procedures, many of which brought little improvement. Eventually, doctors advised that she would likely need to use a wheelchair permanently and attend a school designed for children with special needs.
But Sheree had other plans.

Determined to live as independently as possible, she refused to accept that walking was out of reach. After years of effort and resilience, she achieved something many thought impossible — taking her very first steps at the age of five.
It wasn’t just the physical challenges she had to overcome. Growing up, Sheree also faced unkind comments and bullying because of her appearance. Yet she chose not to let that define her.
“I just wanted to be like everyone else,” she later shared. “Not perfect — just normal in my own way.”

Years later, while studying in Australia, Sheree met someone who would change her life — a man named Chris. He, too, lived with a condition that affected his lower spine, which allowed him to understand Sheree’s journey in a way few others could.
Their connection quickly grew into love.
The couple married in 2015, filled with hope and dreams of building a family together. But once again, Sheree was faced with difficult news.
Doctors believed her body was too small to safely carry a pregnancy.
For many, that might have been the end of the dream. But for Sheree, it was simply another challenge.

Against the odds, she became pregnant. The moment brought overwhelming joy to both her and Chris — a sign that perhaps, once again, the impossible was within reach.
“We couldn’t believe it,” Chris recalled. “It felt like everything we had hoped for was finally happening.”
But heartbreak followed.
The pregnancy ended in miscarriage, leaving the couple devastated. It was a painful reminder of how fragile their journey could be.

“It broke us,” Sheree shared quietly. “But it didn’t take away our hope.”
Despite the loss, Sheree refused to give up on her dream of becoming a mother.
Her family stood firmly by her side through every high and low.
“She’s been fighting since the day she was born,” a loved one said. “If anyone can turn pain into strength, it’s Sheree.”
