After enduring a traumatic attack, the little girl went through immense pain from numerous surgeries. Yet, despite her small stature, this brave and resilient girl maintained an incredibly positive spirit, earning the admiration of everyone.

Paige Woody, 41, from Crestview, Florida, USA, shared the most terrifying moment of her life: witnessing her young daughter, Zoey, being attacked by two aggressive dogs from a neighbor’s house a year ago. The two pit bulls lunged at Zoey, biting and injuring her face, leaving severe damage and even affecting her eyes.
Paige tried to pull Zoey away, shielding her from the dogs’ bites with her own body. Ultimately, she suffered serious injuries to her back, the back of her head, and a torn ear.

Paige and Zoey were rescued and airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. Zoey’s condition was critical, and she underwent a 10-hour surgery to repair her fractured jawbone and reconstruct her damaged face.
Fortunately, Zoey survived the critical condition; however, she will have to undergo many more surgeries to rebuild the affected eye area. This coming April, Zoey will undergo a third skin graft surgery, hoping that advancements in science will give her a more confident new appearance.

During her recovery period after the surgeries, Zoey has always shown admirable courage. According to Paige, one of the ways Zoey has adapted to her new face is by taking selfies.
“Zoey takes up to 30 photos a day. Every time she takes a picture, she touches her scars with her hands and tries to smile brightly,” Paige said. βSometimes she asks me if sheβs ugly. Of course, I always tell her sheβs a very beautiful girl.β

Paige believes that thanks to these photos, her daughter has been able to regain her confidence and comfort, gradually learning to accept her scars and feeling proud that she has overcome such a difficult experience.
