When little Amelia Grace was born, her mother says the delivery room suddenly became very quiet.

Doctors quickly noticed that one of the baby girl’s arms had not fully developed during pregnancy due to a rare congenital limb difference — a condition that affects the growth of limbs before birth.

But while medical staff focused on the diagnosis, Amelia’s mother remembers feeling something completely different the moment she held her daughter for the first time.

“I just looked at her and thought she was perfect,” she said. “I never saw her as broken or incomplete. She was my beautiful little girl.”

Her mother says the most important lesson she wants Amelia to carry throughout life is that beauty and worth are not defined by appearance.

“I want her to grow up knowing she never has to hide herself to deserve love,” she said. “She was born worthy of love exactly as she is.”
