In a heartwarming and hilarious moment on Today, Craig Melvin found himself in an all-too-relatable situation on “Bring Your Kid to Work Day” when his 12-year-old son, Delano, decided to go off-script – and completely steal the show!

On Thursday, April 23, Delano joined his father for an unforgettable segment on the 3rd Hour of Today, where his playful antics left viewers laughing out loud. While Craig introduced Delano, who had woken up very early for the occasion, it quickly became clear that the 12-year-old had other ideas – namely, spinning in his chair as if it were a ride at an amusement park.

“I’ve got to stop encouraging Mr. Roker,” Craig said, laughing along with the playful banter. Delano’s carefree attitude and quick humor had the entire set in stitches, proving once again that kids truly know how to bring the fun.

Later, when asked about his plans for the rest of his day, Delano’s response was a priceless, “Uhhhh…” which led Craig to quip, “Great, we missed school for this!” Even Roker jumped in with, “This kid’s a chip off the old block!” And Craig couldn’t help but admit, “That was Roker’s first ever father-son swipe. That was impressive.”

By the end of his cameo, Delano had completely charmed the Today crew and viewers at home, even suggesting tips for getting “your dad to raise your allowance” – but Craig quickly shot that down with a firm, “That’s not happening!”

Still, Delano’s first Today appearance was undeniably a hit, and viewers are already looking forward to more of his hilarious, off-the-cuff moments.
