TINY MIRACLE BABY AVA DEFIES THE ODDS AFTER BEING BORN AT JUST 25 WEEKS WEIGHING ONLY 900G

A baby girl born so prematurely she could fit in the palms of her doctors’ hands has defied the odds after spending more than two months fighting for her life in hospital.
Little Ava arrived at just 25 weeks of gestation, weighing only 900 grams — making her the youngest premature baby ever successfully saved by City Hospital.
Medical staff described the case as one of the most delicate and emotional journeys they had ever faced.

At birth, Ava’s tiny body was not yet fully developed, leaving her unable to breathe properly on her own. Doctors immediately rushed to stabilize the fragile newborn, placing her under warming care while providing respiratory support, intravenous nutrition, and medication to help her lungs mature.
For the next several weeks, the infant remained in intensive care surrounded by machines, tubes, and monitors as specialists worked around the clock to keep her alive.
Ava spent 40 days on a ventilator before doctors were finally able to transition her to NCPAP respiratory support and gradually reduce her oxygen dependency.
But the journey was far from easy.

During treatment, the tiny fighter faced a series of serious complications, including pulmonary hemorrhage, infections, fungal infections, and difficulty tolerating milk feeds. At several points, doctors feared her fragile body might not be strong enough to continue battling.
Yet somehow, Ava kept responding positively to treatment adjustments.
“She surprised us again and again with her strength,” one medical worker shared. “For such a tiny baby, she showed an incredible will to keep fighting.”
Slowly, week by week, the little girl began growing stronger.
After nine weeks of intensive treatment and care, Ava reached 1.8kg, with stable vital signs, healthy feeding, and a steady growth rate of up to 30 grams per day.

Then came the moment her family had spent weeks praying for.
On the afternoon of July 5, doctors officially discharged the tiny miracle baby from hospital — a moment filled with tears, relief, and celebration from both her loved ones and the medical team who had fought beside her since birth.
Her parents described finally carrying her home as “the happiest moment of our lives.”
“We were terrified of losing her so many times,” the family shared emotionally. “But she never stopped fighting. She’s our little miracle.”
