A SMALL MIRACLE IN THE MIDST OF A VERY BIG BATTLE

A SMALL MIRACLE IN THE MIDST OF A VERY BIG BATTLE

For months, 15-year-old Will Roberts and his family have been fighting the battle of their lives.

Will’s bone cancer has spread throughout his body, including behind both of his eyes. Every day brings new challenges, difficult decisions, and the kind of worry no parent should ever have to carry.

When a child is facing cancer, families quickly learn that the fight isn’t only medical. There are financial burdens, insurance obstacles, and endless uncertainties that add to an already overwhelming journey.

This week, however, the Roberts family received a piece of news they desperately needed.

After previous denials for medications and treatments, Brittney and Jason Roberts received an unexpected call from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.

According to Brittney:

“Today we got a call from Blue Cross Blue Shield, and they have done everything they can to reverse the denials on the medications that were not approved.”

The call came completely unexpectedly.

“They have no idea the amount of stress it lifted with everything we are trying to balance right now. There are no easy days… just some that are a little more manageable than others.”

For a family carrying so much weight, even a small measure of relief can feel enormous.

“To hear a kind and friendly voice on the other end of the line helped take a little weight off our shoulders today. Sometimes even the smallest bit of relief feels huge when you’ve been carrying so much for so long.”

And perhaps the most heartfelt words of all:

“Thank you, God, for whatever doors you opened behind the scenes to lessen even one worry today.”

Stories like this remind us that kindness matters.

A phone call matters.

A person willing to help matters.

And sometimes, when a family is fighting for their child, one act of compassion can provide hope when it is needed most.

The road ahead for Will remains incredibly difficult, but today brought something precious: a little less worry and a little more hope.

Please continue to keep Will, Jason, Brittney, and everyone who loves this courageous young man in your thoughts and prayers.Pray for strength.
Pray for healing.
Pray for comfort.
Pray for hope.

And if you’d like, leave a message of encouragement for Will and his family. They continue to show extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable challenges.
