A Mother’s Daycare Nightmare: She Says a Worker Breastfed Her Premature Baby Without Permission, Then Rushed Him to the Hospital

A mother’s trust was shattered after what should have been an ordinary daycare day turned into a terrifying emergency.

Casey Oxendine, a young mother from Carrboro, North Carolina, believed her three-month-old son Carson was safe while being cared for at daycare. But by the end of the day, she says she was rushing him to the hospital, frightened and desperate for answers.

According to Casey, Carson had been born two months premature and suffered from severe lactose intolerance. Because of that, his diet had to be carefully controlled. Even a small amount of milk-based product could make him sick.

She said a daycare worker had asked whether she could breastfeed Carson to help calm him. Casey immediately refused. To her, the answer was clear: no one had permission to feed her baby in that way, especially knowing his medical condition.

But Casey later claimed the worker ignored her wishes and breastfed the infant anyway. Soon after, Carson reportedly became ill, leaving his mother shocked, furious, and heartbroken.

For any parent, daycare is built on trust. You leave your child believing the people caring for them will respect your instructions, protect their health, and never cross personal boundaries. Casey said that trust was broken in the most painful way.

She later spoke out publicly, saying she wanted accountability for what happened to her son. Her story quickly sparked outrage among parents, many of whom said the situation was not only disturbing but deeply concerning from a safety standpoint.

A mother’s warning is now being shared by many: always ask questions, know who is caring for your child, and make sure every medical instruction is taken seriously.
