Prince Harry Says He’s Exploring ‘Every Available Option’ to Bring Archie and Lilibet to the U.K. Safely

Prince Harry is continuing efforts to bring his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the United Kingdom next week, despite ongoing security concerns that have cast uncertainty over the family trip.
According to a statement from the Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson shared with People magazine on Monday, June 29, Harry “continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the U.K.”

Security Remains the Core Issue
The spokesperson emphasized that accommodation is not the primary obstacle. King Charles III has offered the family a stay on a royal estate, but the offer has not yet been accepted. Instead, the central challenge is ensuring “appropriate and proportionate protective security” for the entire visit, including public and private engagements across the country.
“Safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place,” the spokesperson said. “The issue has never been accommodation. The issue is whether appropriate and proportionate protective security is being provided throughout the entirety of the visit.”
The statement also noted that an independent Risk Management Board (RMB) review — deemed necessary by RAVEC (the Royal and VIP Executive Committee) last November — has still not taken place, making it difficult to assess the current security arrangements.

Background on the Planned Visit
The Sussex family publicly confirmed last week that Harry, Meghan, Archie (age 7), and Lilibet (age 5) planned to travel to Britain together. This would mark the children’s first visit to the U.K. since 2022.
Harry’s trip is centered around the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham. However, after the family was informed that police protection would be limited to royal properties only — and not during travel or other engagements — speculation grew that the plans might change.
The family is currently vacationing in Europe. Sources indicate Harry is determined to find a safe way forward so his children can experience his homeland.
Long-Standing Security Concerns
Security has been a major point of tension since Harry and Meghan stepped back as working royals in 2020 and moved to California. They lost taxpayer-funded police protection at that time. Harry has challenged the decision in court without success and has previously expressed sadness over not being able to safely show his children his home country.
Despite these challenges, the Duke remains hopeful. His spokesperson reiterated that Harry is actively pursuing every possible solution to make the family visit happen safely.
