Please Keep 12-Year-Old Messiah Gonzalez in Your Prayers

The look on Messiah Gonzalez’s face says more than words ever could. But when you hear his tiny voice, it becomes even more heartbreaking.

“I’m trying, Mama…”

“My belly hurts…”

“I’m sorry…”

These are the painful words of 12-year-old Messiah from El Paso, Texas, as he struggles to take even a few steps with the help of a walker. Beside him, his mother, Marysalma, stays strong, gently encouraging him through every difficult moment.

This is not a child simply learning how to walk. This is a young boy fighting through the weakness caused by end-stage kidney disease — a condition that has taken away much of his energy, strength, and the joyful childhood every child deserves.

Messiah is in urgent need of a living kidney donor.

His mother says he has been sleeping most of the day, eating very little, and barely has the energy to move. Still, she refuses to give up. She continues asking questions, pushing for answers, and advocating for more testing because a mother’s love does not rest when her child is hurting.

“I will continue to fight for him until he gets a new kidney and is back to himself,” she shared.

In recent days, Marysalma admitted that seeing her son in so much pain has tested her faith. But even in the middle of fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty, she is holding on to hope.

Sharing a photo of Messiah smiling, she wrote:

“Soon we will have our sweet, happy, dancing Siah Man back. He will be better than ever.”

Please pray for Messiah, his family, and the doctors caring for him. Pray that a matching living kidney donor is found soon. Pray for his strength to return. Pray that one day soon, Messiah will be running, laughing, dancing, and living the bright childhood he deserves.

If you have been touched by kidney donation, received a transplant, know someone who has, or simply want to leave words of hope, please share your encouragement. Even one kind message could bring strength to this family during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.
