Tupac’s Chilling Words Revealed by Las Vegas Police Officer Before His Death

Tupac Murder Trial: Witnesses Recount Rapper’s Final Moments as Autopsy Photos Shown to Jury
The trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis in connection with the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur continued with emotional testimony in Las Vegas.
Former Las Vegas police officer Garry Dale testified that after Tupac was shot, he asked the rapper who had attacked him. According to Dale, Tupac refused to identify the shooter, suggesting that those involved would handle the matter themselves. The testimony has contributed to what has become known as “Tupac’s chilling words.”

On August 18, 2026, forensic pathologist Dr. Lisa Gavin testified about the fatal injuries Tupac suffered in the shooting. Prosecutors also showed autopsy photographs to the jury.
The images proved difficult for some members of Tupac’s family, who reportedly became overwhelmed with emotion and left the courtroom during the presentation.
Another significant witness was James “Mob James” McDonald, who appeared reluctant to testify. McDonald reportedly asked to be treated as a hostile witness, expressing concern that his testimony could contribute to Davis’s conviction.

Prosecutors maintain that Davis orchestrated the attack that killed Tupac. Their theory is that the shooting was connected to an earlier altercation between Tupac and Orlando Anderson, who was Davis’s nephew.
Importantly, prosecutors are not alleging that Davis was the gunman who physically pulled the trigger. Instead, they contend that he played a role in organizing or facilitating the attack.
The defense has challenged the prosecution’s case by portraying Davis as someone who exaggerated stories to gain attention. Defense attorneys argue that statements Davis previously made about the killing are unreliable and should not be treated as proof of his involvement.
Davis has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The trial remains ongoing as prosecutors continue presenting evidence intended to establish Davis’s alleged role in the decades-old killing.
