PennWest Soccer Player Karoline Heintz, 18, Killed; Boyfriend Charged With Homicide

Royce Moser, 18, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Karoline Heintz, 18.

Heintz was a freshman at PennWest California and a soccer player who was preparing for the upcoming collegiate season. According to police, she met Moser to discuss their relationship before she was allegedly stabbed to death.

Her body was later discovered inside her Jeep near the library in California Borough, according to investigators.

Moser’s mother, Rachel Moser, has also been charged in connection with the case. Authorities accuse her of helping cover up the incident, with charges including obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence.

Investigative records reportedly contain an allegation that Royce claimed a “demon” caused him to stab Heintz. That detail comes from statements documented by investigators and has not been established as fact in court.

The case remains ongoing, and the allegations against the defendants have not been proven. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
