Long Island Teacher and Mother of Four Dies After SUV Plunges Into Swimming Pool

Allison Rahmani, 40, a mother of four and a math teacher and coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway, died after her GMC SUV crashed into a backyard swimming pool.

The tragic incident occurred on August 21, 2026. While driving her SUV in the driveway, Rahmani reportedly lost control, striking a tree and then an unoccupied 2006 Honda before the vehicle plunged into the backyard pool.

Emergency responders extricated Rahmani from the SUV and provided lifesaving treatment before transporting her to a hospital. She later died from her injuries.

The loss has devastated Rahmani’s family, students, colleagues, and community. Her husband, Matthew Rahmani, delivered an emotional tribute to his wife during her funeral on August 23.

Allison was remembered not only as a devoted mother but also as an educator who played an important role in the school community.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused Rahmani to lose control of her vehicle.
