NEW DETAILS REVEALED AFTER MISSING GRANDMOTHER OF FIVE IS FOUND DEAD NEAR LAS VEGAS AIRPORT
LAS VEGAS, Nev. — New details have emerged in the disappearance of Alisa Goods, a 63-year-old grandmother of five from New York whose body was discovered in a drainage ditch near Harry Reid International Airport nearly two weeks after she vanished.
Goods disappeared on Aug. 8 while visiting a longtime friend in Las Vegas. She had reportedly left her friend’s home to run an errand and planned to visit a CVS, but she never returned. Her family reported her missing after becoming increasingly concerned.
SURVEILLANCE VIDEO REVEALS HER FINAL KNOWN MOMENTS
Investigators reviewing airport surveillance footage discovered a crucial clue.
The video from Aug. 8 showed Goods near the airport apparently falling down an embankment. She was seen getting back up before collapsing again.
Police said there was no further movement visible afterward.
Her location could not be seen from the nearby street, which may help explain why she remained undiscovered for days despite the area being close to the airport.
BODY DISCOVERED IN A DRAINAGE DITCH
Goods’ body was eventually found near the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid International Airport.
According to police, a homeless man discovered the woman in an embankment and alerted parking attendants, who contacted authorities.
Officers responded and later confirmed the deceased woman was Goods.
The discovery came roughly 12 days after she disappeared, bringing a heartbreaking end to a search that had involved relatives and members of the public.
MYSTERIOUS MESSAGES ADDED TO THE FAMILY’S FEARS
During the search, Goods’ family received disturbing messages from her cellphone.
The messages reportedly requested money, gas and Bitcoin, despite the fact that Goods did not drive.
The unusual communications caused relatives to fear that someone else could have been using her phone and that something more serious might have happened to her.
Police have continued examining the circumstances surrounding those messages.
HER FAMILY HAD BEEN DESPERATELY SEARCHING
Goods’ relatives traveled from New York to Las Vegas and helped distribute flyers while trying to locate her.
Her daughter, Kristen Goods, and niece, Alana Calloway, had publicly appealed for information during the search.
After learning that Goods had been found, the family expressed profound grief and thanked those who had helped spread the word about her disappearance.
A fundraiser established by her daughter has also been collecting money to help with funeral expenses.
CAUSE OF DEATH REMAINS UNKNOWN
Although surveillance footage appears to show Goods falling down the embankment, authorities have not yet publicly determined her cause or manner of death.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.
The footage provides an important timeline, but questions remain about what happened between the time Goods left her friend’s home and when she reached the airport area.
A FAMILY LEFT WITH QUESTIONS
Goods was remembered by her family as a beloved mother and grandmother.
Her disappearance had triggered nearly two weeks of uncertainty, with relatives hoping they would find her alive.
Instead, they received devastating news.
The surveillance footage may have answered one question — where Alisa Goods went — but her family is still waiting for answers about why she ended up there and what ultimately caused her death.
After days of searching, a missing grandmother of five has been found. Now, investigators are working to piece together the final chapter of her life.
