LAS VEGAS — The disappearance of a 63-year-old New York grandmother who traveled to Las Vegas to visit a longtime friend has ended in heartbreak after her body was discovered in a drainage ditch near Harry Reid International Airport.

Alisa Goods, a grandmother of five, vanished on Aug. 8 after leaving her friend’s home to run an errand. For nearly two weeks, her family desperately searched for answers, distributing missing-person information and appealing to the public for help.

Now, newly revealed surveillance footage has provided investigators with a haunting glimpse into Goods’ final known moments.

SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS HER COLLAPSE

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, airport surveillance footage from Aug. 8 showed Goods falling down an embankment, getting back up and then collapsing again.

Police said there was no further movement visible after she collapsed.

The location where she fell was not visible from the nearby roadway, which investigators say helps explain why her body remained undiscovered for days.

Goods’ body was eventually discovered in a drainage ditch near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage.

A caller reported a deceased woman in the area, and responding officers later identified the woman as Goods.

SHE HAD BEEN MISSING FOR 12 DAYS

Goods had traveled from New York to Las Vegas to visit a longtime friend.

On Aug. 8, she left the friend’s home to go shopping and visit a CVS. When she failed to return or respond to calls and messages, concern quickly grew.

Her family reported her missing, and relatives traveled to Las Vegas as the search intensified.

For days, loved ones had no idea where she was.

Then came the devastating discovery.

MYSTERIOUS MESSAGES ADDED TO THE FAMILY’S FEAR

While Goods was missing, her family also received alarming messages from her phone.

According to PEOPLE, messages were sent requesting help, gas money and Bitcoin.

The unusual communications immediately raised questions because Goods’ relatives did not believe the messages sounded like her.

The messages added another layer of uncertainty to an already desperate search.

However, investigators have not established that the messages were connected to Goods’ disappearance or death. Police have described the person behind the messages as a separate “bad actor,” according to reporting cited by The Sun.

Goods’ family had spent days hoping for a different outcome.

Her niece, Alana Calloway, described the family’s reaction after learning that Goods had been found.

“Our hearts are broken,” Calloway said in a statement, emphasizing the family’s gratitude to the public and media members who helped spread the word about the disappearance.

The family has asked for continued prayers and privacy as they mourn.

Goods’ daughter, Kristen, also launched a fundraiser to help with funeral and related expenses. The fundraiser had raised more than $17,000 as of Aug. 27, according to PEOPLE.
