💙🙏 “DON’T STOP PRAYING FOR XAVIER…” — MORE THAN TWO MONTHS LATER, HIS FAMILY IS STILL HOLDING ONTO HOPE

On May 26, 12-year-old Xavier Taylor went to a baseball field to do something he loved.

Just another warm-up.

Just another day at the ballpark.

Then, in a heartbreaking freak accident, a baseball struck Xavier in the neck.

He collapsed.

In a matter of moments, a normal baseball night became a fight for his life. Xavier was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where his family has remained by his side.

Now, more than two months have passed.

And for Xavier’s family, every day still carries the same question:

Will their little boy come home?

There are no easy answers.

No words that can make the waiting less painful.

So his family continues to hold onto the one thing they refuse to let go of:

HOPE. 💙

They are asking supporters near and far to keep Xavier in their prayers — to pray for healing, strength, peace and recovery.

And Maple Shade has shown them they are not alone.

The number 6 has become a symbol.

His teammates have worn Xavier’s jersey number.

Baseball bats have appeared on porches in his honor.

Landmarks have been lit in blue.

And people who never knew Xavier personally have gathered simply to pray for a 12-year-old boy they now feel connected to.

Because Xavier isn’t just a name in a headline.

He is a son.

A brother.

A teammate.

A friend.

A boy who loves baseball.

A child who should be thinking about his next game, his next hit, his next season — not fighting through an unimaginable medical crisis.

His father has continued to speak about his faith and his belief that Xavier will one day walk out of the hospital and return to the game he loves.

And perhaps that is what makes this story so powerful.

The community is still showing up.

Still wearing No. 6.

Still placing bats outside.

Still turning bridges blue.

Still saying Xavier’s name.

Still praying.

Still believing.
