Oklahoma Parents Arrested After Allegedly Leaving 3 Young Children Home Alone to Play Pickleball

An Oklahoma couple has been arrested after authorities say they left three young children — including a 1-year-old — home without adult supervision while they went to play pickleball.

Andrew Dick and Feather Roberts were arrested on Aug. 30, 2026, in connection with allegations of child neglect, according to the Glenpool Police Department.

Police said the couple’s three children, ages 8, 5 and 1, were allegedly left alone inside their home while the parents traveled to a pickleball court in Bixby, Oklahoma, roughly 20 minutes away.

A Concerned Caller Alerted Authorities

The situation reportedly came to light after a concerned person contacted authorities and expressed concern that the children had been left without an adult.

According to police, the caller also contacted Roberts directly.

Roberts allegedly said that she and Dick were playing pickleball in Bixby and claimed the children were with babysitters.

But the caller went to the residence and reportedly discovered that the children were actually alone.

When officers arrived, they found the 8-year-old and 5-year-old watching television, while the 1-year-old was asleep.

Authorities said all three children were safe when officers encountered them.

Parents Returned From Pickleball

When Dick and Roberts returned home, officers questioned them about how the children could contact their parents if an emergency occurred.

According to the police statement, Roberts allegedly told officers that the children had access to an iPad that could be used to contact them.

Authorities, however, continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police said investigators subsequently learned that this allegedly was not the first time the couple had left the children home without adult supervision.

The Couple Has a Fourth Child

Investigators also learned that Dick and Roberts have a fourth child, an infant.

According to police, appropriate childcare arrangements had been made for the infant at the time of the incident.

The three children who were allegedly left at home were ultimately found safe and in good health, authorities said.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services was notified following the arrests.

Both Parents Face Child Neglect Charges

Dick and Roberts each face three counts of child neglect, according to police.

The allegations have not been proven in court, and the couple are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The case remains under investigation as authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the children’s supervision and the allegation that similar incidents may have occurred previously.

The incident has also raised questions about parental supervision and the potential risks of leaving very young children — particularly a 1-year-old — without an adult present, even when parents believe they can be reached remotely.

For now, authorities say the children were safe and healthy after officers responded to the home.
