MOTHER, 16-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER AND 7-YEAR-OLD SON FOUND DEAD — BOYFRIEND NOW FACES TRIPLE MURDER CHARGES

A Las Vegas family was torn apart in a horrifying domestic shooting that left a mother and her two children dead — and investigators say the woman’s boyfriend later turned himself in to police.

The victims were identified by the Clark County Coroner as 41-year-old Nohani Flores Osuna, her 16-year-old daughter Maiya Deleon Flores, and her 7-year-old son Noah Morales Flores. All three were found dead inside their apartment on O’Bannon Drive in central Las Vegas on September 1.

The discovery came shortly after Juan Carlos Orona, 29, contacted police and said he had shot his girlfriend and her two children.

According to police, Orona called shortly after 7 p.m. and said he wanted to turn himself in. His father and brother reportedly drove him to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department substation.

Officers later forced their way into the apartment and found Nohani, Maiya and Noah suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

THE CLAIM THAT SHOCKED INVESTIGATORS

According to an arrest report cited by multiple news outlets, Orona told investigators that he had confronted Nohani about an alleged relationship with her former boyfriend.

Police records say Orona claimed Nohani acknowledged having been unfaithful and allegedly told him that her former partner, identified only as “Henry,” was “better in bed.”

Orona allegedly told investigators that he then “blacked out.”

He said that when he regained awareness, he was holding a 9mm handgun and Nohani and her children were lying on the floor.

Investigators recovered 10 spent 9mm cartridge casings from the apartment, according to the arrest report.

Orona reportedly did not deny shooting the victims but claimed he could not remember exactly how the shooting unfolded.

HE ALSO HAD A GUNSHOT WOUND

When Orona surrendered, he was suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and authorities said the injury was not life-threatening. Police have not publicly established whether the wound was self-inflicted.

After being medically cleared, Orona was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

He is being held without bail and faces three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon, along with additional charges related to allegedly discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

THREE LIVES LOST

Nohani, Maiya and Noah were not simply names in a police report.

They were a mother and her two children — a 16-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy whose lives ended inside their own home.

Neighbors told local media that the family had only been living at the apartment complex for several months.

Now the apartment has become the center of a homicide investigation that has shocked the Las Vegas community.

The Clark County Coroner classified the three deaths as homicides.

QUESTIONS REMAIN

Investigators are still working to establish exactly what happened inside the apartment and what led to the confrontation.

Orona’s claim that he “blacked out” will now become part of the legal proceedings, but it does not determine his guilt or innocence.

He remains accused, and the charges against him are allegations.

His next court appearance is scheduled for September 9, as prosecutors continue building their case.
