SHE WAS JUST 18 MONTHS OLD WHEN HER FAMILY’S WORLD CHANGED FOREVER — NOW ANASTAZJA IS FACES SMA EVERY SINGLE DAY

Anastazja was born prematurely, and at first, her parents had no reason to believe their little girl’s life would take such a difficult turn.
Then, at just 18 months old, they heard the diagnosis that changed everything: SMA type 1, a rare condition that affects muscle strength and movement.
“We remember that moment so clearly,” her family says. “There was fear, helplessness and so many questions. We didn’t know what the future would look like, but we knew we had to stand beside our daughter.”

Today, Anastazja is already attending primary school. She is described by her family as a gentle, sensitive and incredibly cheerful girl — but beneath her sweet smile is a remarkably strong character.
Like any child, she wants to play, spend time with friends and simply enjoy being a kid. Yet much of her daily routine is taken up by intensive rehabilitation.
Sometimes she asks her parents, “Why do I need so much therapy? Why do we have to keep doing this?”

Her parents understand how difficult it can be. After school, instead of simply resting or playing, Anastazja continues with exercises and specialist therapies, including Vojta and Bobath methods, stretching and movement therapy.
She also has challenges involving both hips, including dislocation and contractures, making regular rehabilitation especially important.
“Some days she just wants to stop and play like other children,” her family says. “We understand her completely. But every exercise is an investment in her independence and her future.”

The family works tirelessly to give Anastazja the care she needs, but the ongoing costs of rehabilitation, therapy and speech therapy have become difficult for them to manage.
“We are not asking for an easy life,” they say. “We are asking for a chance to help our daughter keep moving forward.”
Through every difficult day, Anastazja continues to smile, learn and grow — showing her family that courage can sometimes be found in the smallest moments.

For her parents, every therapy session, every exercise and every little achievement carries the same hope: that their beloved daughter can preserve her strength, independence and the brightest future possible.
